(This is a report on Gold-Rush Diamond's Are Forever who is in her retirement home)
Hello Ann, Robin & Amy!
You might find it amusing to learn that Lexie seems to have adopted some feline characteristics!
This afternoon what did I find outside the back door on the patio but a newly arrived dead mouse! Since Lexie was the only dog in the back this morning, and I was outside earlier with no sign of a dead mouse anywhere, I can only conclude that her hunting prowess has expanded to include the catching of mice! This is an added benefit for us, as country living provides us with more mice than I would like [anything over zero is too much for me ;)]
Lexie stood there over it proudly, and I noted that it was a clean kill; no trifling with the poor thing as a cat will do.
She is such a dear, and watching her explore new vistas is such a joy! The other day I saw my sedate old mother retiree racing and chasing around the yard with a visiting Golden Retriever boy, seemingly having the time of her life! Her devotion is heartrending; when I slipped on the side hill last week and took a tumble, she raced up the hill from down below and stood right next to me until I got up. What a sweet girl she is, and what fun it is watching her live her new life!
Best to all,
Marnie Delano
