"Tonka"

Ann,

Tonka was born on November 20, 1997. His full name was Brooke's Gold

Rush Tonka Toy (AKC SN503965/07). His father was Riki Tiki Tavi and his

mother was Meirs Nugget of Gold. Tonka died about a month ago. It was

a real shock to my wife Ann, my daughter Brooke, and myself. Our first

Golden was from a kennel in the Shenandoah Valley and she lived 13

years. We figured we had a few more years with Tonka. We did not have

a necropsy, but our Vet did x-ray Tonka and believes he had a tumor that

hemorrhaged. He did not suffer the pains of old age.

Our daughter got Tonka after she graduated college. Tonka did not take

to city life and the city noises, so we got the grand-dog. Tonka was

great with our cats, our granddaughters, other dogs, anyone and

everyone.

We will want another Gold Rush puppy, but not too soon, we still miss

Tonka too much. Thanks for such a great dog and 10 years of

companionship that went all too fast.
